IMMEDIATE CORPORATE OPENING FOR A CODING SPECIALIST
The individual will be responsible for auditing the ICD and CPT coding by HIM coders at 15 hospitals in the BMHCC system. Responsibilites include, but are not limited to, providing feedback and continued training to the hospital coders, conducting workshops and in-services, answering coding questions, keeping abreast on the latest regulatory updates, etc.
Candidate must have a strong background in ICD-9-CM diagnosis and procedure coding, CPT procedure coding, and DRG/APC payment methodologies and issues. Qualifications also include: Analytical skills, excellent communication, teaching, interpersonal skills, and knowledge of federal, state, and third party coding and reimbursement regulations.
Degree: Associate or Bachelors's Degree, or an equivalent combination of experience.
Registration: RHIT or RHIA preferred.
Certification: CCS preferred
