IMMEDIATE CORPORATE OPENING FOR A CODING SPECIALIST
The individual will be responsible for auditing the ICD and CPT coding by HIM coders at 15 hospitals in the BMHCC system. Responsibilites include, but are not limited to, providing feedback and continued training to the hospital coders, conducting workshops and in-services, answering coding questions, keeping abreast on the latest regulatory updates, etc.
Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years coding experience in an acute hospital setting, expertise in inpatient and outpatient coding (ICD-9-CM and CPT), with practical working knowledge of DRG and OPPS/APC reimbursement issues (I/OCE edits, medical necessity, etc.). Qualifications also include: Analytical skills, excellent communication, teaching, interpersonal skills, and knowledge of federal, state, and third party coding and reimbursement regulations.
Degree: Associate or Bachelors's Degree, or an equivalent combination of experience.
Registration: RHIT or RHIA preferred.
Certification: CCS preferred
